The rule that matters
“Seven days ahead” is not the whole answer.
A booking window has two parts: the number of days and the release time. If the course opens seven days ahead at 7:00 AM, use that exact clock when you set the reminder. Availability is not guaranteed after release.
Use the course's own booking page as the source of truth. Third-party marketplaces may receive different inventory or expose it on a different schedule.

Subtract the course's advance-booking window from the date you want to play, then use the course's stated release time. A Saturday round at a course with a 7-day window and 7am release opens the previous Saturday at 7am.
What is the most common golf tee-time booking window?
Seven days is common, but public courses around Boston range from 2 to 14 days. Some courses give members or permit holders an extra day. Always verify the current rule on the course's own booking page.
When do Boston municipal golf tee times open?
At George Wright and William J. Devine, public tee times generally open four days ahead at 7am. Boston Parks season-permit holders receive a five-day window. Course policies can change, so confirm before setting the alarm.
